Rose Meléndez is the new Miss Universo Honduras 2021

Rose Meléndez was crowned Miss Honduras Universo 2021 (or Miss Universe Honduras 2021) at the end of the gala, held on August 28, 2021 at the Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort in Roatán, Bay Islands, Honduras. She succeeds Miss Universo Hondura 2020 Cecilia Rossell. The representative of Limon beaten 15 other beautiful beauty queen and earned the right to represent Honduras at Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel.

The 27-year-old beauty queen belongs to the Garifuna people, a mixed African and indigenous people who are descended from the Black Caribs, who lived on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent. She is a volleyball player, and a model. Melendez competes in the Sula Valley Volleyball League. Now, she is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business administration.

She is not a newbie to pageantry. In August 2016, she represented Limon and competed against 17 other candidates at Miss Honduras Ébano 2016. She emerged as the winner, making her the fourth woman to hold the title.

The 2021 Miss Universe Honduras’ court includes :

1st runner-up – Nasifa Gabrie (Puerto Cortes)

2nd runner-up – Dariana Reyes (Atlantida)

3rd runner-up – Woldie Durón (Tegucigalpa)

4th runner-up – Nancy Samayoa (La Lima)
