Nigerian ex-beauty queen, Agbani Darego celebrates 20th anniversary of winning Miss World

Nigerian ex-beauty queen, Agbani Darego is marking two decades since she made history by becoming the first woman from Africa to win the prestigious Miss World competition.  Recall that the entrepreneur and model was crowned Miss World in 2001 the memory and euphoria from twenty years still echo in her mind and that of all those who supported her.

In a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Agbani shared the video of herself being crowned Miss World after she beat stiff competition from other beautiful ladies from other parts of the world. She shared;

“20 years today! Forever thankful for the experience @missworld,” the ex-beauty queen wrote.

Before her emergence as World Beauty Queen, she had won the national beauty pageant, Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria. At the Miss Universe competition, the model was the first Nigerian to place among the top 10 semi-finalists, finishing seventh overall.

Agbani married billionaire Theophilus Danjuma’s first son, Ishaya in 2017, in a private ceremony held at the Amanjena Luxury Resort in Marrakech, Morocco.
