The competition will be hosted by Mario Lopez and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo. Miss Universe 2020 marks the first time since Miss Universe 2015 that Steve Harvey will not host the competition. The divas have started to check-in into their ‘bubble’ or hotel rooms at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida. The competition will be held for 10 days, including activities that focus on rehearsals, photo, and video shoots, and pre-pageant events.

Miss Universe 2020 will be held keeping all the necessary precautions in place to keep the delegates, crew, and the limited audience safe from the deadly virus. These policies included mask usage, social distancing, quarantining upon arrival, and rigorous testing, as well as a working group with others following the same restrictions, in coordination with health officials.

President of Entertainment for Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming, Keith Sheldon mentioned, “We are thrilled to partner with The Miss Universe Organization is putting on an innovative event under unique circumstances that will lean heavily on our industry-leading Safe+Sound protocols to prioritize the well-being of all event participants. While safety will be at the forefront, we also look forward to showcasing the Hard Rock brand and all that our flagship Guitar Hotel property has to offer to audiences around the globe.”

The delegates who checked in on 6th May 2021 underwent the test again on arrival at the hotel and then checked into their rooms to maintain social distancing. The divas have been very positive and hopeful about the competition and have been taking the necessary precautions to keep themselves safe and healthy for the competition. Miss Universe India 2020 Adline Castelino and Miss Universe Argentina 2020 Alina Luz Axelrad were tested positive for Covid-19 last month and now the two are fully recovered and prepared to give their best shot on-stage.

Miss Universe Paraguay 2020 Vanessa Castro also tested positive a few days ago, but her prayers have been answered as she tested negative a few hours ago and boarded a flight to Florida for the competition.

Paula Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization, mentioned that the team has spent months planning and preparing safety precautions to develop this edition of MISS UNIVERSE—one that will be memorable, special, and innovative. “I look forward to seeing this work come to fruition and crowning a new Miss Universe,” she added.
