Miss & Mister Supranational Namibia 2022 crowned

Julita Kitwe Mbangula and Jean-Louis Knouwds were crowned at the end of the pageant, held on March 26, 2022  at SKW in Windhoek. The gala runs in the presence of Miss Supranational 2021, Chanique Rabe from Namibia and Varo Vargas, Mister Supranational 2021. The first runner-up for Mr Supranational Namibia 2022 was Danny Shikwambia and the second runner-up was Silvanus Nepolo. The first runner-up for Miss Supranational was Anemire Uris and the second runner-up, Varaa Kuani Hambira.

After her crowning, she said, “I think when you put in the work and sacrifice everything for your dream, you expect a result. I wasn’t really expecting to win, but I knew if I surrendered myself to the process; if I gave it everything within me, then I would get to a place where I’m proud of myself. But this is a shocker and my biggest achievement ever.”

Julita vowed to bring change with her newfound position. “When you set goals for yourself, you make a commitment to yourself that you are going to try your level best. No excuses to reach those goals. So, I’m not saying I’m going to reach all of them but I’m going to make a promise to myself that I’ll do my best, no excuses,” she said.

Mbangula is a medical doctor after her graduation at the University of Namibia.

She is not a newbie to pageantry. She finished first runner-up at Miss Namibia 2019. She was was crowned second runner-up at the 2020 Miss Africa Calabar pageant.

Knouwds works as host of Wakker Word! (morning show) on Kosmos 94.1, a private radio station, founded in 2001.
