Claudia Todd is the new Miss Scotland

Claudia Todd was crowned Miss Scotland during a glistening ceremony streamed on YouTube on August 27, 2021. Hailing from Bothwell, the 25-year-old beauty queen beaten 11 other finalists to the coveted title and succeeds Miss Scotland 2019 Keryn Matthew. She earned the right to represent Scotland at Miss World 2021, to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 16, 2021.

Visibly emotional as her name was announced, Claudia said: “It doesn’t feel real, I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and hopefully I can be a good Miss Scotland.

It comes three years after the stunning blonde, who spent nearly a year living the dream as a princess in Disneyland, survived sepsis in hospital aged 22. Speaking about her sepsis battle, Claudia – dating Greenock Morton star Gary Oliver – said: “I’d just done a run of pantos, three shows a day and I became really unwell. I had flu-like symptoms and was rushed to hospital. I collapsed in my house. After two and a half weeks with amazing NHS staff I recovered.

She is now an ambassador for the UK Sepsis Tust and has been using her platform to raise cash for the charity. Speaking about her plans as Miss Scotland, she said tonight: “To me it means so many things. You can empower young people, especially on social media. “Nowadays social media has such a detrimental effect on young people’s lives and I believe as Miss Scotland you could make a positive platform.”

The blonde bombshell spent nearly 10-months as a Disney princess in Disneyland Paris before the pandemic. Claudia, who runs her own beauty business in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire, regularly shares snaps of her pampered lifestyle on social media.
