Who is the new Miss Tahiti?
Like every year, Tahiti opens the ball for the regional pageants of Miss France. Temenava Domingo was crowned Miss Tahiti 2024 in front of 2,500 spectators in the gardens of the town hall of Papeete. The native of Punaauia, who succeeds Ravahere Silloux, is a 22-year-old model. She returned to fenua after obtained her LEA International Commerce.
After four hours of show on the theme of American cinema, it was finally Temanava Domingo, 22, who managed to come out on top by winning the famous pageant. “I thank each person who accompanied me throughout this adventure. My parents, my family, my friends, you. Magic, gratitude, joy. These are the words that come to mind while writing to you“, the young woman quickly reacted on Instagram.
She has been passionate about modeling since her teenage years. Five years before her crowning as Miss Tahiti, she won also Tahiti Fashion Week. She then left for Milan to try to make a name for herself, while continuing her studies. “I was 15 years old. I was a young girl who did not yet take responsibility for herself (…) I am very happy to have had this path in life,” declared the young woman during an interview granted to Polynesia 1st.
An education and travels that shaped his character and personality. “Independent, reckless, altruistic”. This is the meaning of the first name she bears. Literally, understand: “Cradle of consciousness” in Tahitian.
If the young woman spoke a lot about youth during the Miss Tahiti campaign, Disability, culture and the environment are also causes close to her heart: “Not everyone has this chance to live here at home. So, let’s preserve our island and become aware of the simple things, which for me are a real luxury.”
Beside, Temanava Domingo is also a professional life coach. “Life coaching is above all a presence to others and I think we can all embody that. Life coaching has allowed me to listen to myself and others. It is also become aware of what we are. It’s something that we can do at any age. You just have to realize it,” assured the new Miss Tahiti.
