The first Miss Cabo Verde Internacional crowned

Stephany Amado was crowned as the first ever Miss Cabo Verde International during the inaugural pageant held on September 3, 2022 at the largo Amilcar Cabral in Várzea, Praia, Cabo Verde. She also won the Top Model Award during the finale. The representative of Mindelo will now represent Cabo Verde at the upcoming edition of Miss International, to be held in December 2022 in Japan. On representing Cabo Verde at Miss International for the first time, Amado said, “The contest has existed for over 60 years and it is the first time that Cape Verde will participate, I hope to at least reach the top 20 or 10.”

To the press, after her crowning, the newly crowned Miss Cabo Verde Internacional advanced “being an honor and a responsibility” to be able to bring the name of his country, Cape Verde, to the outside world. “It is a huge satisfaction, and I thank everyone who was present to support me and those who supported me even though I was far away, I could feel its vibration. I believe that I have always carried a crown, my parents taught me to be humble, resilient, educated me correctly to treat others with respect, so that’s what it’s like to be a queen.”

She intends to use her platform and voice to be a beacon of hope for all young Cape Verdeans.

A 23-year-old native of Praia City was born and raised in Cape Verde, but works as full-time model in United States. She enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking, as well as reading and writing poetry. She speaks fluent Portuguese and English.

She wants to be a positive influence to young African women, serving as a source of representation that was lacking her from a very young age. She is also an advocate of holistic medicine.
