Taryn Delanie Smith crowned Miss New York 2022
Taryn Delanie Smith of Manhattan was crowned Miss New York 2022 at the end of the pageant, held at Paramount Hudson Valley Theater Peekskill, New York on May 29, 2022. , Miss Greater New York bested 23 other candidates to succeed Miss New York 2021, Sydney Park, who finished 3rd runner-up of Miss America 2022. Taryn will represent the Empire State at the Miss America Pageant at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut, in December. Themed with the glitter and sparkle that is Las Vegas, the pageant production was hosted by Mallory Hagan, a former Miss New York who became Miss America 2013.

On being crowned Miss New York 2022, she took to her official social media penning down her feelings.

The new titleholder, who also won the Overall Red Carpet Award, is a graduate of St. John’s University in Queens where she earned a bachelor of science degree in communication and media studies and a master of science degree in international and intercultural communication with a minor in French language. She is a media creator and consultant in the New York City area.
