Tamaki Hoshi crowned Miss World Japan 2021

Tamaki Hoshi was crowned Miss World Japan 2021 during the finals held October 12 in Tokyo. The 20-year-old media content writer bested 30 other candidates for the title. The organization had crowned Maria Kaneya as the official representative for the upcoming pageant of Miss World in September last year but, unfortunately, Maria Kaneya will not participate at the 70th Miss World competition this December. Hence, the newly crowned Tamaki Hoshi will represent Japan at the Miss World 2021 pageant, as Japan is yet to pioneer a win at Miss World.
After winning the title, she took to her social media to share her joy.

Hoshi is a third-year student at Waseda University’s Faculty of Social Sciences. She lived in the US for 15 years before deciding to return to Japan to pursue higher education.
Not a newbie to pageantry, she previously competed in Miss World Japan 2020 and placed as the runner-up.
