Miss Portuguesa crowns 2021 queens

The 2021 Miss Portuguesa pageant concluded on September 11 with the crowning of Portugal’s representatives for the most important beauty pageants (Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Supranational).

Lidy Alves – Miss Portuguesa 2021

Lidy Alves was crowned Miss Portuguesa 2021 at the end of the gala. The 25-year-old representative of the Portuguese community in France beaten 21 other finalists for the top crown and succeeded Miss Portuguesa 2019 Inês Brusselmans. With this crown, Lidy earned the right to represent the nation at the 70th Miss World contest to be held in December in Puerto Rico.

Native from Montalegre, she moved to Paris, France since childhood. Alves speaks Portuguese, French and Spanish. In 2019,she was crowned Miss Portuguesa França 2019 at Les Pyramides in e Port-Marly, France as she became the delegate of Miss Portuguesa 2021 and won the competition.

Oricia Dominguez Dos Santos – Miss Universo Portugual 2021

Oricia Dominguez Dos Santos was crowned Miss Universo Portugal 2021 at the end of the gala. She succeeded Miss Universo Portugal 2020 Cristiana Silva and will compete at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December.

Born and raised in Venezuela, the 27-year-old representative the Portuguese community in Spain attended the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas and later underwent a leadership training at the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA) in Caracas. In 2017, Oricia studied marketing at the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas.

In 2019, she moved to Spain and attended the Carlos III University of Madrid in Getafe , where she obtained a master’s degree in fashion. Last year, she attended Conde Nast College Spain in Madrid, where she obtained her degree in journalism with a specialization in beauty, fashion and lifestyle. She also went on to study entrepreneurship at the University of Deusto in Bilbao.

Not new to pageantry, Dominguez began her splendid journey from Miss Venezuela 2018 where she was adjudged as the second runner-up. She also competed Miss World Spain 2020 where she failed to qualify in the semifinals and finished in the Top 5 of Beauty with a Purpose. At Miss Portugal 2021 she represented the Portuguese community in Spain at Miss Portugal 2021.

 

Ana Ferreira – Miss Grand Portugual 2021

Meanwhile, Ana Ferreira from Guarda was named Miss Grand Portugal and earned the opportunity to represent Portugal at the next edition of Miss Grand International later this year in Phuket, Thailand. Ana succeeds Miss Grand Portugal 2020 Sara Duque for the title.

Hailing from Leiria, the 19-year-old beauty queen currently lives in Guarda. She is working as a professional model and intends to follow an Economics course as it is the field of study she likes and identifies with. She is determined, outgoing and resilient.

Rita Reis – Miss International Portugual 2021

Rita Reis from Lisboa placed first Dama de Honor (or first runner-up) and was named Miss International Portugal 2021. She will compete at the 60th Miss International beauty pageant in 2022.

Born in and a resident of Lisbon, the 21 year-old beauty queen graduates in a fashion and acting course, a degree in Communication Sciences and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Communication, Television and Film. She knew from an early age that she wanted to trace her professional path in the Portuguese television entertainment world, but without leaving her second passion behind, writing.

After being crowned as Miss International Portugal 2021, Rita took to her social media as she wrote, “It still feels like a dream! It is with great pride that I announce that I am the 1st Lady of Honor Miss Portuguese and Miss International Portugal 2021! I would like to thank the president of the organization from the bottom of my heart.”

“Representing Portugal will be a privilege and believe me I will do my best to make our country, our culture, language and traditions known! It was a pleasure to meet all the people who came across me on this route! Thanks for everything,” she added.

Ana Teixeira – Miss Supranational Portugual 2021

Ana Teixeira from Gondomar finished second  Dama de Honor (or second runner-up) and was named Miss Supranational Portugal 2021. She will compete in the next edition of the Miss Supranational pageant in 2022.

Hailing from Gondomar, the 18-year-old beauty queen studies Pharmacy at the Porto School of Health. One of Ana’s passion is dancing and she has been dancing since she was 5 years old. She likes traveling, adventure, dreaming, socializing and above all smiling. She is always ready to learn from the challenges that life offers her, always trying to bring out the best. She has already carried out volunteer work to support the homeless, becoming aware of the social differences and existing difficulties.
