Meet Ines Radoncic, Miss Earth Bosnia & Herzegovina

The pageantry season has indeed resumed despite the presence of the pandemic. Miss Earth is expected to take place in the near future, even if we do not know the terms and conditions yet. Some rumors say that all challenges will be realized remotely with a face-to-face final, but these are just rumors. Let’s wait until we have the confirmations by the organization. While waiting for this final, let’s discover the different candidates.

After meeting Miss Earth Nepal (interview you can find on our YouTube channel), we stop in Bosnia & Herzegovina to meet Ines Radoncic.

Inside Pageant – Thank you for receiving us, Ines. Your crowning is very recent. We just want to know you a little better. What is your occupation ? 

I am a bachelor of International Business and Finance and I own a beauty salon. In my spare time, I enjoy long walks, relaxing in pools, reading books, and spending time with my friends and family.

Inside Pageant – Who is the most influential person in your life?

The most influential person in my life is me. My own success influences me to go further and to be better.       I don’t like to compare myself to anyone. I compare just my personal development in past and now. I am trying to be a better version of myself each day.

Inside Pageant – What is your motto?

Life is too short to limit yourself.

Inside Pageant – What is so important for you?

For me, the most important thing in life is to find happiness in small things and to be surrounded by people that you love.

Inside Pageant – What is your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is chocolate.

Inside Pageant – Why did you enter pageantry?

In pageantry, I went in to get out of my comfort zone. I believe that the realization of goals and dreams can be achieved in this way. Although it is a big step, very often accompanied by fear, it leads to the realization of your dreams and that is why I think it is worth getting out of the comfort zone.

Inside Pageant – Why did you join Miss Earth particularly?

I saw the choice for miss earth as a wonderful opportunity to point out some problems that the whole planet is facing, such as the problem of ecology, through such a wonderful concept that accompanies many people in the world. We live in a world where profit and the economy have become one of the most important if not the most important aspect of life, so this very often leads to exploitation and damage to nature. I join Mis Earth to encourage the idea of preserving the environment, ecology, and ultimately our entire planet through this choice.

Inside Pageant – Can you share the challenges of joining Miss Earth amidst pandemic?

For more than a year, the world has been battling the COVID 19 pandemic that has changed everyone’s lives in different ways. Young people have lost opportunities for better education, unemployment has risen, many people have been fired in order for companies to make savings, and the most tragic of all is that a large number of people have left the world. For me personally, the challenge of joining the Miss Earth pageant was to make our pageant tragic for the people who came to the Miss Earth BiH and who will come to the Miss Earth in the Philippines. I think that mass vaccination of the world’s population has certainly made great progress, which has reduced the risks to a certain extent, but the risks still exist. With adherence to the measures prescribed by the World Health Organization and vaccination against COVID 19, I think the situation can be kept under control.

Inside Pageant – What mean to be Miss Earth with the worldwide pandemic?

Being Miss Earth during a pandemic carries great responsibility. I think the title of Miss Earth in a time of pandemic should be used by young girls by pointing out the importance of maintaining health, adhering to prescribed measures to bring the virus under control as soon as possible, encouraging vaccination, and so on. I believe that even after Miss Earth, girls in their states and local communities should encourage the idea of preserving health because it is something most important in a pandemic period.

Inside Pageant – We still don’t know if the pageant will be virtual or not this year. What is your preference? 

I would be pleased if this year’s Miss Earth pageant was held live, in front of an audience and a professional jury. It is different when you meet somebody in person than through a camera.

Inside Pageant – How do you see the pageant if the organization still opted for a virtual edition? 

I prefer it live, but the virtual edition is also okay for me.

Inside Pageant – What is your best asset to win the crown of Miss Earth?

There will be a lot of beautiful women there. But besides beauty, I believe that my best asset to win the crown is my charisma.

Inside Pageant – Tell us about your advocacy.

As a little girl, I was attracted to playing the violin, so I finished violin school. Today, on the other hand, I am attracted to the fashion industry, cosmetics, and beauty treatments, and currently, in addition to graduating from college, I am working on improving my skills in the beauty industry. In parallel with training and work in the beauty industry, I am educated in the field in which I graduated, through various conferences, seminars and I actively plan to enroll in continuing studies or master studies. I think that with well-coordinated and planned obligations there are no problems and that everything can be achieved with good organization. That is why I advocate and strongly support the education of women, getting out of their comfort zone, and I believe that in no case should a woman limit herself.

Inside Pageant – What are some of your achievements?

Some of my achievements are that I became Bachelor of International Business and Finance this year. I also opened a beauty salon for lash extensions, lash lift, brow lamination, henna brows, and brow shaping. I play violin and I won the title of the most beautiful woman in my country.

Inside Pageant – If you win Miss Earth, what will be your first action?

As a spokesperson for Miss Earth Foundation, what is your message to women? My message to young girls and women in the world would be to never give up on their goals, to educate, formally and informally, and not to succumb to the influence of the patriarchal world in which we still live. I am saddened by the fact that there is a high rate of harassment and rape of women in the world today, and that very little is said about it. I would like to personally support young women and raise my voice with them against sexual harassment and rape. I would like to tell them that they are not alone in this problem either. That there are women around the world going through similar situations and that they can support each other, together. In political life and in finding employment, women still find their place and fight the male population. I would like to tell all young girls to work on their education and self-improvement every day because an educated and smart young woman will be able to cope with all the problems that come her way.
