Liza Gundowry crowned Miss Mauritius 2021-2022

Liza Tracy Gundowry was crowned Miss Mauritius 2021-2022 at the end of the pageant, held on February 26, 2022 at the Hennessy Park Hotel in Ébène. The 24-year-old beauty queen bested 13 other beautiful girls to win this crown and to succeed Miss Mauritius 2019-2020 Angélique Sanson. With this title, Liza wins the oppportunity to represent Mauritius at the next edition of Miss World pageant. During the same night, Zakiyyyah won the title of Miss Intercontinental Mauritius, and will now represent her country at the upcomind edition of Miss Intercontinental pageant.

Liza Gundowry graduated with a master degree in African Studies at Oxford University in England. Her thesis explored the place of Mauritian women in politics.
