Interview of Kenya Nicol, Miss Elegance Picardie for Miss Elegance France

Today, we discover Kenya Nicol, Miss Elegance Picardie 2021 and contestant at the 2022 Miss Elegance France pageant, which will take place on March 12th.

Inside Pageant – Hello Kenya, can you introduce yourself for people who don’t know you ?

Hello ! My name is Kenya Nicol, I am 22 and I’m studying literature at university. I also study in a journalism school in Paris and I am correspondent for the Oise county for the newspaper “Le Courier Picard”.

Inside Pageant – What are your passions and the activities you do ?

I do theater, especially improvisation. I also did some dancing. It helps me to be on stage. I also like going out with friends, and having contacts.

Inside Pageant – Can you tell us about your pageant journey ?

I was elected Miss 15/17 Picardie in 2018, at the age of 17. I didn’t do a lot of outings, but I had a good week of preparation. I was semi-finalist and I received the price of elegance.

Inside Pageant – Why did you participate at Miss Elegance France ?

I had already received the price of elegance in another pageant. Before, to enter in Miss Élégance France, you had to be 1m65 tall. Now, the minimum height is 1m63, and since that’s my height, I thought to myself, why not give it a try and see if I’m really characterized by my elegance.

Inside Pageant – If you had to define your adventure in 3 words, what would they be ?

I would say enchanted, exceptional and pleasant.

Inside Pageant – How do you feel as the Nationals approaches ?

For the moment, I am quite serene, my mind is light. I have the advantage of having already participated in pageants so I know what to expect. I just have to prepare my speech. I prepare myself by doing sport, I sleep well and I think about it more and more!

Inside Pageant – What will be the first thing you do if you are elected Miss Elegance France 2022 ?

A party !!

Inside Pageant – What is the cause you defend, and in which you would like to get involved if you are elected ?

I fight against the precariousness of people. While studying in Paris, I often see homeless people and I would really like to get involved with associations to help them.

Which international competition for which Miss Elegance has the license appeals to you the most (Miss Tourism International, Miss Earth, Miss Globe, Miss Tourism Metropolitan and Miss Landscapes) ?

I would say Miss Earth, which is one of the most important competitions, but I’m quite hampered by the remote elections, because you can’t fully experience the adventure.

Inside Pageant – Who is the most important person in your life ?

My mother. We are really close and accomplices. But my family is very important too, like my brother.

Inside Pageant – What would you tell us to conclude this interview ?

There is no need to be 1m70 to be Miss, look at my journey !
