Elísa Gróa Steinþórsdóttir crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2021
Elísa Gróa Steinþórsdóttir crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2021, at the end of the finals, held on September 29, 2021 at the Gamla Bio, Ingólfsstræti 2a, 101 Reykjavík. She beaten 20 other candidates to win this crown and to succeed Miss Universe Iceland 2020 Elísabet Hulda Snorradóttir. With this title, she earned the opportunity to represent Iceland at Miss Universe 2021, to be held in Eilat, Israel in December.
Hailing from Garðabær, Capital Region, Elísa attended Snyrtiakademían and Commercial College of Iceland.
Not new to pageantry, the beauty queen has already competed against 23 other candidates at Miss Universe Iceland 2015 but she was unplaced. She also participated in Miss Universe Iceland 2016 where she was adjudged as the third runner-up. She was Miss Universe Iceland 2017 second runner-up. As Miss Eco Iceland 2019, she represented Iceland at Miss Eco International 2019 in Cairo, Egypt but remained unplaced.
Also at the finale, Íris Freyja Salguero Kristínardóttir representing Crystal Beach was crowned Miss Supranational Iceland 2021 and became the official representative of Iceland at the upcoming edition of Miss Supranational. Hulda Vigdísardóttir, Elva Björk Jónsdóttir and Elin Stelludóttir were adjudged first, second and third runners-up respectively.
