Brezana Da Costa crowns Ruth Carlos as the new Miss Mundo Angola

Ruth Carlos was crowned Miss Mundo Angola 2021 at the end of the gala, held on October 2, 2021 in Luanda. The representative of Huambo competed against 17 other candidates  to win this crown and to succeed Miss Mundo Angola 2019 Brezana Da Costa. With this title, she earned the opportunity to represent Angola at the next edition of Miss World pageant, to be held on December 16, 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Ruth lives in Luanda, the capitale of Angola. She is not from Huambo but during the casting, she and other candidates were randomly assigned provinces that had no representatives. She studied at the Instituto Superior Politécnico Kalandula De Angola in Viana.

She is not a stranger to pageantry. In 2018, she represented Lunda Sul at Miss Mundo Angola 2018 and competed against 17 other candidates at Tropical Cinema in Luanda, Angola, where she finished unplaced.

The 2021 Miss Mundo Angola’s court includes Jania da Silva (Miss Cwanza Sul) and Miss Huíla as first and second runner-up respectively.
