Australia wins Manhunt International 2022
Lochie Carey was crowned Manhunt International 2022 during the world final of Manhunt International pageant, held on Saturday, October 1 at The Fountain at Okada Manila in the Philippines. The representative of Australia beat 33 other models to win the title and to succeed Paul Luzineau of the Netherlands, who relinquished his reign after over two and a half years.
It’s the second title for Australia in this pageant. He also won the Face of AQ Prime and Mr. Blackwater Bossing awards. He was also the overall digital challenge physique winner.
The contest scrapped the national costume competition this year, an event that is a staple in global pageants, and held a high fashion segment in its stead. Manhunt International Executive President Rosko Dickinson told the media that the contest’s pivot to fashion indicates its transition to modeling. “We are not a pageant,” he declared.
The international tilte’s winners and former contestants since its establishment in 1993 have each embarked on their respective modeling careers in their own countries, with some of them penetrating the global fashion scene. And this, Dickinson said, makes their decision to “embrace fashion and modeling” all the more logical.
The 23-year-old newly crowned Manhunt International works as professional model since 2019 and also as events producer. He grew up in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
In 2019, he competed against the likes of Love Island’s Maurice Salib and Shannon Adams for the Manhunt Australia Male Model of the Year title.
