Antonia Cristal Figueroa is Miss Universo Chile 2021

Antonia Cristal Figueroa was crowned Miss Universo Chile 2021 at the end of the gala, held September 11 at Hotel Ontiveros in San Fernando. The 26-year-old environmental civil engineer and professional model from Coquimbo bested 14 other finalists to succeed Miss Universo Chile 2020 Daniela Nicolas and earned the opportunity to represent her country at at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December.

“Thank you very much to all the people who have written to me on social networks and have shown their support. I can’t answer you all at this minute but thank you very much! A great challenge is coming for Miss Universe 2021. We are going to Israel,” Figueroa posted on Instagram.

Figueroa was a taekwondo champion and former professional violinist of the municipal theater in her region. She speaks English, German and Portuguese fluently.  She is the president of an NGO called “Voluntarios por la Infancia (Volunteers for Children)” that helps children and adolescents in SENAME residences.

This crowning marks the third national crown for Figuera. She is not a newbie to pageantry. She represented twice Chile on the stage of Big5 pageant. In 2016, she is the delegate of Chile at Miss World pageant, held in USA, but she finished unplaced. Two years later, she competed in Miss Earth 2018 in the Philippines and placed in the Top 12.

The 2021 Miss Universo Chile’s court includes :

1st runner-up – Maria Jose Norambuena  (Miss San Fernando). She won the sash of Miss Tourism Global Chile 2021

2nd runner-up – Daniella Valentina (Miss Miss Iquique)

3rd runner-up – Bárbara Pacheco Guerra (Miss Valparaiso)

4th runner-up – Camila Marchant (Miss La Serena)
