And Miss World Caymand Island 2022 is…

Leanni Tibbetts has been crowned Miss World Cayman Islands 2022 at the end of the pageant, held at the Harquail Theatre on September 24, 2022. She succeeds the last year’s titleholder, Rashana Hydes, and will now start her preparations for the next edition of Miss World pageant, to be held in 2023. She also won Miss Photogenic, Miss Best on Sports, Miss Best Island Couture and Miss Best in Interview during this contest.

She graduated a Bachelor in aviation management at the Florida Institute of Technology. In 2015, she was the recipient of Butterfield Bank’s 2015 undergraduate scholarship. The scholarship awards the selected student with up to US$30,000 per year, for a maximum of four years of study.

Hailing from George Town, the 25-year-old newly crowned Miss World Cayman Islands works currently as an Office Support Assistant at Cayman Islands Government. She is also a Pilot and Coast Guard. She volunteers for the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps.

With this crown, she would like to use her platform to empower women, especially those in abusive situations and highlight environmental initiatives. Leanni lives by the saying “Be the change”.

The 2022 Miss World Cayman Islands’ court includes

1st runner-up –  Melissa Bridgemohan

2nd runner-up – Latoya Jackson

Other awards were as follows:

  • Miss Multimedia – Angelique Copeland
  • Miss Congeniality – tie between Latoya Jackson and Deverlee Ramos Bodden
  • Miss Best in Swimwear – Latoya Jackson
  • Miss Best in Gown – Latoya Jackson
