Vanessa Nativel from Reunion Island was crowned Miss Mermaid France 2021 at the end of the gala, held on August 29, 2021 at Club le Malvern in Arzon. She beaten 9 other beautiful candidates to win the crown. According the director of Miss Mermaid France, “Vanessa convinced by her aquatic performances, photo shoot and underwater choreography too, she is an efficient underwater model and takes gentle breaks with a relaxed and smiling face, not obvious when everything is done in apnea and without a mask. no nose clip … A real mermaid!“. During the swimsuit and evening gown parade, she validated her qualitites as Miss Mermaid. “The committee appreciated her contact with others and the care she took in creating her costumes, attesting that she is a meticulous, prepared and motivated candidate. Her costume was decorated by her with many flowers from the islands and she also created a scale top by scales working about 4 months on it to arrive at the final result.”
