Amelia Tu crowned Miss Universe Canada 2022

Amelia Tu was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2022 at the end of the pageant, held at the Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto on May 14. She bested 53 other contestants to win the national crown and to succeed Miss Universe Canada 2021, Tamara Jemuovic. She will now prepare to compete at the next edition of Miss Universe pageant later this year.

Amelia was born in Montreal and she speaks English, French and Chinese. She is currently pursuing a degree in biology and business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Hailing from British Columbia, the 20-year-old has listed dancing, singing and traveling as her hobbies. She is also a passionate environmental advocate.

2nd runner-up – Yuliya Shcherban from Saskatchewan

3rd runner-up – Sophie Church from Nova Scotia
