Crown Up! - State Pageant
A new Miss Illinois’Outstanding Teen crowned
Mia Fritsch-Anderson was crowned MIss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen 2022, at the end of the pageant held at the Marion Civic & Cultural Center on June 10, 2022. outlasted 26 other women to win the contest and to succeed Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen 2021 Kylie Rider. Miss Chicago’s Outstanding Teen will be taking her talents nationally when she competes for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Dallas in August.
Mia is a junior at Whitney Young High School in Chicago, IL, where she is a Principal Scholar and High Honor Roll student, and is active in the National Honor Society, NHS for the Dance Arts, NHS for Computer Science, Freshman Mentors, Society for Women in Engineering, Girls Who Code, STEAM Team, Key Club, and multi-year Chicago and Illinois State STEM Fair qualifier.
Her social impact initiative is Choose to Breathe, and initiative she founded which aims to reduce the stigma of asthma and increase inhaler compliance for children and teens.
Her talent is dance. Mia started dancing at age 2 and found her love of Irish Dance at 5. She competes at the Open Champion level with the Cross Keys School of Irish Dance of the South Side of Chicago.
The 2022 Miss Illinois’ Outstanding Teen’s courts includes:
1st runner-up – Olivia Egert (Mississippi Crown OT)
2nd runner-up – Gianna Kohl (Capital City OT)
3rd runner-up – Shaelen Hudson (Heartland OT)
4th runner-up – Eden Wilson (Hyde Park OT)
5th runner-up – Alli Peterson (Quincy OT)
