A native of North Platte was crowned Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen 2022

Alexandra Thompson was crowned Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen 2022 by 2021 Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen Jamie Rose Chen. The Teen competition was held in conjunction with the second night of preliminary competition for the Miss Nebraska contestants at the North Platte High School Performing Arts Center on June 10, 2022. Miss Alliance’ Outstanding Teen will represent her state Illinois in 17th Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas in Dallas Texas on August 10-12, 2022.

The 14-year-old native of North Platte graced the stage with a vocal rendition of “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston for her talent portion of the competition.

“I am just ecstatic, I am so, so, so excited and so blessed,” Thompson said. “I’ve done so much preparation up to this point. Even when I was a Little Sister in 2017, I’ve just been loving this organization and this chance to be Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen and it’s, well, really outstanding.”

Alexandra is not a newbie to pageantry. She was  Miss Sandhills’ Outstanding Teen 2020 & 2021.

Thompson will be a Freshman at North Platte High School next year.

The 2022 Miss Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen includes:

1st Runner-up –  Clara Johnson (Miss Douglas County’s Outstanding Teen)

2nd Runner-up – Olivia Terwey (Miss Chadron’s Outstanding Teen)

3rd Runner-up – Brooke Margheim (Miss Scotts Bluff County Outstanding Teen)
