A mother wins Miss Universe Netherlands

Faith Landman was crowned Miss Universe Netherlands 2024 at the end of the finale, held on July 5, 2024 at Studio 21 in Hilversum, Netherlands. The 27-year-old model professional photographer beat 15 other finalists to succeed Miss Universe Netherland 2023,Rikkie Kollé and to become the official representative of the land of “tulips and windmills” at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico later this year. She also bagged the Miss After Eden and Best in Interview awards.

The representative of Zandvoort makes history to becoming the first mother to win the title. “As the first mother to represent the Netherlands, I will do everything I can to put our country on the map. It is my hope to serve as a true example of how you can pursue your dreams and ambitions, no matter your situation,” Faith posted on Instagram.

The new Miss Universe Netherlands is not a newbie in pageantry. Landman began her beauty pageant career on September 9, 2017, when she was crowned Miss Earth Netherlands 2017, succeeding Deborah van Hemert. On November 4, 2017, she represented the Netherlands at Miss Earth 2017 and competed against 85 other contestants at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines, where she finished among the Top 8.

Maruschka Sahiboe of Noord-Holland was named first runner-up while Yentl Felter of Utrecht, Dominique van der Weiden of Overijssel, and Rosalie Esmee Hooft of Gelderland were the rest of the Top 5 finalists.
