Petra Hämäläinen crowned Miss Suomi 2022
Petra Hämäläinen crowned Miss Suomi 2022 (aka Miss Finland 2022) during a pageant, held on September 17, 2022, at the Valkoinen Sali, in Helsinki, Finland. The 26-year-old native from Savonlinna bested 9 other candidates to succeed Miss Suomi 2021, Essi Unkuri, and to become the official country’s representative at Miss Universe 2022 pageant, to be held on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans, United States. Immediately after her crowning, the newly crowned Miss Suomi shared her joy: “One of my dreams and dreams came true. I’m looking forward to a lot of new experiences,” Hämäläinen said in an interview with Iltalehti.
Hämäläinen also dreams of the entertainment industry in the future. She is a Bachelor of Education at the University of Eastern Finland and is still studying to become a classroom and home economics teacher, but she not completed her master’s thesis. She has also completed an advanced degree in dance at Savonlinna Music Institute. She has been riding since she was a child. She also started working as a model at a young age, at the age of just 16.
The new Miss Finland can be met in Savonlinna on November 12th in the Culture Cellar, where she will organize a charity fashion show for the benefit of HaTTu ry.

2nd runner-up or Heritage Princess – Adelaide Botty van den Bruele (Sonkajärvi)
