She is also the first official candidate selected for Miss France 2023, which will take place on December 18: “I will give myself 1000%. When she was younger, Herenui danced for the great ballets of Tahiti and at 16 she also tried Fashion Week. The title of Miss Tahiti that she wears today with pride, she has dreamed of since childhood: “It is more than a beauty contest. In the end, I learned a lot about myself. I came out of it stronger. It was a springboard, an accelerator of life.”
At 23, Herenui is aware that the adventure of Miss Tahiti will offer her particularly rich experiences. Her reign is just beginning and she already has very little time to rest. Communications officer for Tahiti Tourisme, she is also a student in a Masters 2 in Webmarketing at the CNAM in addition to now being the miss of an entire people: “Miss Tahiti must be beautiful, she must represent Polynesian beauty well. But when she goes to France, she must also be at least cultured, know how to express herself well. (…) I will do everything to get my master’s degree. And there, the exams are approaching quickly.”
One of the causes that she supports and that is close to her heart: youth. “I was lucky to have been well supported during my childhood, surrounded by the love of my parents. And this is not the case for all young people. I would like to accompany them, because it’s true that in some homes, we don’t necessarily have the means, there is physical or moral violence… There aren’t necessarily good examples at home. And what is unfortunate is that youth, adolescence… these are the most important moments in life,” says the young woman.
