Venezuela wins Reinado Internacional del Cafe 2022
Ismelys Velásquez was crowned the 50th Reina Internacional del Cafe at the end of the pageant, held on January 8, 2022 at the Cultural and Convention Center of Manizales, Colombia. The representative of Venezuela bested 20 others candidates to win this title.
The candidates had two parades during this finals. The first in a fantasy costume to highlight the cultures and strengths of her countries. The other was in evening gown. In this way they showed their poise and elegance.
The 22-year-old Venezuelan stood out with her catwalk and with the answer to the jury’s question about her motivation to be the Reina Internacional del Cafe. “I have had the opportunity to participate in different beauty contests, but simultaneously I am studying international studies at the Central University of Venezuela; something that has shown me that there are two careers that help me fulfill a dream that is to leave my name aloft. country and praise this wonderful fruit that fills us with joy and happiness, such as Colombian coffee, ”she said.
The queen also went on to express her gratitude on a social media post as she shared, “Thank you God for guiding my steps, to my family for being my engine in each project, to the organizations Reinado del Cafe Venezuela and Reinado del Café de Cacao, Jhon Gomez and Lunna Copland for becoming a family and helping me improve in all aspects and to you, the most loyal followers, thank you because you have supported me since day one. This achievement is not only mine, it belongs to all of you, it is from VENEZUELA! We did it!”
The new sovereign of beauty a student of international relations at Universidad Central de Venezuela. She has a long history in pageants. She won the pageant of the Vargas Carnivals in 2018 and also that of Reina Internacional of Cacao Venezuela the same year. She held the titles Miss La Guaira 2020 and Miss Mesoamérica International 2021. She placed in the Top 10 of Miss Venezuela 2020 while representing the Venezuelan state of La Guaira.
The 2022 Reina Internacional del Cafe’s court includes María Eduarda Valotto, from Brazil, as viceroy; Mariana Loaiza, from Colombia, as first princess; Luciana Martínez, from El Salvador, as second princess, and Rebecca Stoughton, from the United States, as third princess.
