Michigan has elected two new beauty queens

Miss Lake State Teen Jada Moylan was crowned Miss Michigan Teen USA, and Miss Spirit of Detroit Taylor Hale was crowned Miss Michigan USA at the end of the final, held on July 7, 2021 at McMorran Theater in Port Huron. The two will go on to compete in the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants later this year.

The weekend started with a preliminary round Friday night, which gave judges a first-look at the contestants. At the start of the semifinal competition Saturday, the number of contestants was reduced to 16. During the semifinals, contestants took part in the swimsuit and evening wear competitions. Contestants in the Miss Michigan Teen USA pageant competed in active wear and evening wear. After a brief intermission, 11 contestants in both pageants were sent home before the finals.

In the finals, contestants were given a final question to answer. The Miss Michigan Teen contestants were asked questions focusing on topics such as community service, volunteerism and social media, while the Miss Michigan USA contestants faced questions dealing with their personal accomplishments and mission statements and controversy around pageantry.

Miss Michigan USA 2021

Taylor Hale lives from Detroit and speaks English and French. She attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., USA. She is not a newbie in pageantry. She competed at Miss District of Columbia USA 2017, where she finished among the Top 15. She was Miss Pure Michigan 2019 and competed at Miss Michigan USA 2020, where she finished second runner-up.

The 2021 Michigan USA’s court includes :

1st runner-up – Olivia Santelli (Miss White Pigeon USA)

2nd runner-up – Tamika Vantifflin (Miss Pure Michigan USA)

3rd runner-up – Alexis Fagan (Miss Motown USA) 

4th runner-up – Kayla Anderson (Miss Highland USA)

2nd runner-up – Resha Sheth (Miss Bloomfield Hills Teen USA)

3rd runner-up – Beatrice Salazar (Miss Utica Teen USA)

4th runner-up – Emma Hahn (Miss Farmington Teen USA)
