The native from Pretoria wins Miss Grand South Africa

Lu-Juan Mzyk was crowned Miss Grand South Africa 2022 on July 9, 2022 at the Boesies, The Glass House, Lake Umuzi in Secunda Mpumalanga. She succeeds Miss Grand South Africa 2021 and 4th runner-up of Miss Grand International 2021, Jeane van Dam and become the official representative of South Africa at Miss Grand International 2022, in October 2022 in Indonesia. She also won Miss Debutante award.

The  22-year-old beauty from the Gauteng province studied Fashion media and marketing and is a business owner and entrepreneur, SA All Star Models East Rand. She also works as a model.

On winning the Miss Grand South Africa 2022 crown, Mzyk took to her official social media to share her joy.

She is not a newbie to pageantry. She was finalist of SA School in 2018. During the pageant, she was involved in her school’s project to collect a million soda plugs for a wheelchair. Her passion for charity began three years ago when she danced for DMDC-Fusion. The group of dancers are tackling projects to raise money for cancer sufferers and others who need help. The group has also performed several times in the SA State Theatre and the Jopie Festival.

In 2018, she was finalist at Miss Queen of South Africa. She finished first runner-up at Miss Grand South Africa in 2021.

Mzyk also made hundreds of traps that she sold at school to raise money against cancer.

2nd runner-up – Sphila Msweli
