Rowee Lucero reacts to Bb. Philippines disqualification

Miss Philippines Rowee Lucero has just arrived from Albania following her successful stint at the Miss Globe 2020 beauty pageant where she won 4th runner-up.

During a meeting with some members of the pageant media Thursday night, Lucero said that she has no hard feelings against Binibining Pilipinas pageant which disqualified her as an official candidate after she won in Albania.

Lucero, who is under self-quarantine at home, said that she knew she knew it was coming when she competed in the Miss Globe contest abroad.

I was no longer surprised that I was removed from Bb. Philippines 2020 because I really risked when I went to Albania. But I really said goodbye to them that I will join Miss Globe but they did not agree because of COVID-19. I understand them and I feel BPCI’s concern for our candidates,” she said.

Lucero recalled how her journey to Albania began. “The organizers of Miss Globe called me to see if I could join. I wrote to the BPCI to inform them well but they did not agree. But I took the risk. It’s up to you. I only have two missions in the pageantry: to compete in Bb. Philippines and wear the Philippines sash abroad. When Miss Globe knocked on my door, I told myself this opportunity and I grabbed it. I said yes.” And the rest is history, she said.

The Bulakena beauty queen also clarified that she did not violate any contracts with BPCI. “I’m thinking about what to do because I just want to clear my name. I don’t like the issue that just hangs there so I want to reach out to them. But I am so grateful to Bb Pilipinas.
