Angel J. Cartwright crowned Miss Bahamas Universe 2022

Angel J. Cartwright was crowned Miss Bahamas Universe 2022 on July 31, 2022, at the Atlantis Showroom in Paradise Island. Miss Long Island edged out eight other finalists to succeed Miss Bahamas Universe 2021, Chantel O’Brian, and to become the official representative of her island at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
The 27-year-old private banker and conservationist from Nassau supports the Bahamas National Trust (BNT) initiative on biodiversity conservation specifically the protection and restoration of the mangrove forests which is essential to the global ecosystem. The newly crowned Miss Bahamas Universe holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of The Bahamas, and both an MBA in international business and an MS in finance from the Florida International University.
No newbie to pageantry, Cartwright is a former Miss Teen Bahamas International winning the title in 2013 and placing in the top 10 at the Miss Teen International pageant.
The 2022 Miss Bahamas Universe’s court includes:
1st runner-up – India Davis (Miss Abaco)
2nd runner-up – Natalya Pratt (Miss Andros)
