Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau was crowned Hoa hậu Hoàn vũ Việt Nam 2022 (or Miss Universe Vietnam 2022) at the end of 5th edition of the pageant, held on June 25, 2022 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She bested 40 other contestants to succeed Miss Universe Vietnam 2019, Nguyễn Tran Khánh Vân. She become the official representative of Vietnam at Miss Universe 2022. The date and venue for the competition are yet to be announced.

The new Miss Universe Vietnam is a 28-year-old model from Tay Ninh. She was a winner of Vietnam’s Next Top Model, crowned Miss Supranational Vietnam, and placed in the Top 10 at Miss Supranational 2019 in Poland where she earned the title of Miss Supranational Asia.

Reining Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu together with former Miss Universe Catriona Gray and Natalie Glebova graced the competition as international judges. Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart and CEO Amy Emmerich were also present to witness the glittering show.

The first runner-up might compete at Miss Universe 2023 since the pageant is held every two years
