A new Miss Universe Aruba crowned

Kiara Arends was appointed Miss Universe Aruba 2022 in a private coronation ceremony that took place on July 31, 2022, at the Crystal Theater in Oranjestad. She succeeds Miss Universe Aruba 2021 Thessaly Zimmerman and will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st edition of Miss Universe pageant. No official date and venue have been announced yet for the international pageant. Kiara Arends is known throughout Aruba as an intelligent person with a good heart to help others, and in the words of Minister Ursell Arends, “Kiara can be sure that the entire people of Aruba will give her all their support and sustain”

The 23-year-old newly appointed Miss Universe Aruba is a travel enthusiast, a model, and a law graduate is a social justice advocate, who founded Benefitting Upcoming Mommies during the Pandemic (BUMP) Aruba, a charity organization that benefits upcoming mothers during the pandemic. She speaks Papiamento, English, Spanish and French.

No stranger to pageantry, Kiara held the title Miss Teen Aruba International 2017 and she finished as Virreina de las Americas at Miss Teen Américas 2018.
